“Facetious Melody” is the sixth full collection of new studio originals by Suavity’s Mouthpiece. An inaugural issue by the newly-rebranded Purple & Pink Records publishing outfit, the album is a thrashing swash of mostly warmly-toned, rich orchestral pop productions, determinedly betraying composer-producer J. Trafford’s classic pop-grandeur predilections. Trafford’s own aggressively clear baritone and darkly humorous lyricisms are projected upon massive multidirectional layers of heavily-orchestrated sound — an utter wrecking crew of intuitively-arranged guitars, strings, choirs, organs, and exotic, synthetic rhythms — which engagingly favor the sexiness of certainty with a weird, post-punk era sentience.
