about

Suavity's Mouthpiece makes its Broke Whore Records debut with 'MixedMedia,' the new extended-play single from their forthcoming fifth studio album to be released later this year. Fronted by writer and vocalist J. Trafford, the experimental outfit has become a distinctive voice in the growth of Pittsburgh's underground noise in the past four years. The ensemble's new title track drops you from Baciccio's ceiling fresco of the Il Gesú into a hellish reality where your amateur 'masterpieces' are vehemently denied from national art galleries. Listen to the pop single that spits spitefully from the voice of new Suavity's Mouthpiece recruit keyboardist Steph Cozza (who plays the role of Gallery Art Critic #1) that it doesn't "GET your art." Accompanying the A-side track is the new original SM composition 'Pavarotti,' a desolate soundscape of electrical pulses and tortured harmonicas in tribute to the Italian tenor. Rounding out the EP is the new remix of the successful Trafford-penned ATTACK.silence experiment track 'Kill Mellencamp,' produced by Pittsburgh DJ DropStacks (for more information regarding the ATTACK.silence experiments from last year, see the official Suavity's Mouthpiece website). It is with this beat that Suavity's Mouthpiece accompanies Broke Whore Records in the violent expansion of creative sound.
